Psychopomp is the act of guiding the spirits of the dead to the other side.
A Journey is like meditation except instead of just relaxing your mind, you actually go somewhere. Usually the spirit realm to get answers to questions. One uses a drum or other music to put themselves in a trance like state.
These apparently, are some of the things I am around to do.
How did I figure this out you ask? I've actually had a number of subtle and not so subtle hints throughout the years. Even way before I started on this particular spiritual path. But this one journey I did cemented it for me.
My intention was to see what I was suppose to do with my ability to see spirits. One of my guides was sent to help me specifically for this reason. Bob the dragon. Yes I understand how comical the name is. What can I say my guides have a good sense of humor.
I got on Bob's back and he flew up high into the sky. Then descended toward the ground at a tremendous speed. Just before we hit the ground, it spit open into a giant hole. We flew further and further into the earth until we reached this giant cave. Bob landed on the floor and I looked out to see a large green/grey hued mass. It was hundreds of thousands of spirits walking in a spiraling circle. It reminded me of when penguins huddle together during the bitter cold of the antarctic. But instead of freezing cold. There was nothing. No wind, no noise, just them, moving along in a circle. Bob told me to approach one of them. I was scared but mustered up my courage to do it.
I slowly made my way to the outside of the crowd. Then found a man. He walked right by me as if I wasn't even there. He was in a rumpled suit with dress shoes and a tie. Short black hair and a long face. I tapped his shoulder and asked, "Hello, can you hear me?" The man turned around quickly and his eyes shot open wide as he reached for me and yelled at the top of his lungs. Terrified I ran and ended up slamming into Bob's body. I felt like a child trying to hide where I could so easily be seen. Bob turned his head to me and said, "Don't be afraid. Not everyone can see or hear them like you can. So when they find someone who does, many yell and scream so as to be heard back."
I understood that. What if I wanted to communicate with people but they just ignored me or couldn't see me? I would do anything to keep their attention.
Bob asked me to try a second time. I approached the crowd again and tapped the shoulder of a young woman. She had long stringy hair and worn eyes. She looked at me with this longing and attitude as if she had given up on everything. And this walking in this spiral was all that she had left. And even that wasn't necessarily worth wile. She turned around and moved back into the lines.
Now I was getting gutsy and frustrated. I was determined to not get scared or depressed or whatever. I was going to talk to a spirit and do it right! I tapped the shoulder of another man. This man was black and wore jean overalls and a red long sleeved shirt. He had a bald head and in his 30's. He looked concerned. I asked him what was wrong.
He said, "I don't understand where I am? I've been walking for so long but can't find my way home."
Surprisingly I said, "I think I can help you, come this way."
And away I lead to a ledge in the cave. At the ledge was a light blue fog that hid any sort of walls or floor or ceiling. I looked on and put up my index finger as I drew an oval in the air. Not more than 10 feet in front of us past the ledge was a hole. Open to another place. Beyond it, all I could make out was a light and various grey shadows that passed by. I looked at the man and he smiled.
"Finally.", he breathed. And he walked up to the door and through.
Bob said to close the doorway and I did. Then I passed out.
Now when I say I passed out I don't mean in my physical body. I mean in my Journey my spirit passed out. Or at least that's the best explanation I have for it.
I woke up to see Bob on one side of me and a teacher of mine, Toni on the other side. My eyesight was fuzzy and unfocused. This disconcerted me. Toni was looking down at me trying to comfort. Telling me to relax and not panic. Bob also advised me to relax and I finally did. When that happened we were called back with the drum.
Afterwards I told my teachers Toni, and Sharon along with a few others about my journey. I'll never forget the look on Toni and Sharon's face. They we're so excited.
"Sounds like your being groomed for Psychopomp work."
What the hell is that? I thought.
Then I looked it up.

Today I'm learning more about it. Along with Soul Retrieval and other Shaman services. I decided a couple years ago that if I had these talents then I should put them to use. Thanks to the Woman's Shaman Circle here, I've found out how to utilize it. And what is great, is that I get to help others along the way.

Starting at the Beginning
Hello everyone,
My name is Katie. And this is/will become a compendium of all of the supernatural occurrences I have encountered throughout the years. Mainly this is for my own needs as a place to keep this stuff so my brain doesn't have to remember it all. But its also doubles as an outreach kind of blog so that I can share said experiences while maybe helping a few others. Knowing that your not crazy or alone in this world is enough to make some people get off that ledge. Not like I've been there but I did used to think I was going nuts. And that might as well have been wrist slitting worthy.
Enough with the graphic analogies. I'll be sharing past experiences, and anything that happens to me in the present/future. This is by no means a chronological document, (which bugs my Virgo aspect to no end). So I will make is clear when this is a past thing or a present thing.
One more thing,
I have a sister blog here called Starting Anew. It is a spooky, and crazy Slenderman related blog that is COMPLETELY FALSE. It only reflects my obsession with this internet urban legend/meme and is to be seen as a complete work of scary fiction. Please feel free to enjoy it and if you don't know what Slenderman is, then please look it up at your own risk. I'm serious this shit scares the crap outta me and I've seen some real life scary paranormal shit.
Anyway that blog is for fun is what I'm getting at. And is in no way connected to these experiences listed here.
So without any further ado, welcome to my blog you probably stumbled upon and enjoy.
